Jurassic World: Epoch?
A little while ago Universal Pictures updated their website, listing Jurassic World 2 as Jurassic World: Epoch. The studio quickly changed it back to "Jurassic World sequel". This is not necessarily the official title, but it very well could be.
"Jurassic Earth", "Jurassic War" and "Jurassic Squad" were thrown around as possible titles over the last year, but these should be taken with a grain of salt.
What we do know, however, is that the title for the sequel is a short one. At least according to a Twitter photo by newly added actress Daniella Pineda. Her thumb conveniently covers whatever word comes after "Jurassic" on her welcome note.
Besides Pineda, a number of additions to the cast have been made.
Director J.A. Bayona also recently revealed that legendary actress Geraldine Chaplin has officially joined the cast of JW2. The cast also includes Justice Smith, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell and Ted Levine.
B.D. Wong has officially confirmed his return as as Dr. Henry Wu with a picture on his Instagram. He re-joins stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard.
As mentioned in a previous post, control room operator Jake Johnson/Lowery Cruthers will most likely not return for the sequel. No word yet on "brothers" Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins.
Bayona promised in an interview that "There will be new dinosaurs" in JW2. He hinted as well that we will get several returning dinosaurs such as T-Rex and Velociraptors. He also went on to tease the greater scale of the sequel in contrast to his previous movies.
When asked abou the underlying political themes that the Jurassic Park movies have, Bayona stated that "It's very interesting where the new movie is heading. [...] It's darker... but at the same time it's going to be a lot of fun."
In related news, Universal Pictures has registered three new domains: IslaNublarResuceMission.com, DinosaurProtectionGroup.com and AllCreaturesHaveRights.com. It hints at wat may feature in the sequel.
Welcome to Jurassic World 2
Colin Trevorrow yesteray took to Twitter to share a set photo from JW2. The beautiful picture - captioned "Walking in giant footsteps" - is confirmed to be an actual still from the upcoming movie.
We're in for a visual treat, guys!
